Thoughts from You

One of my favorite rooms at our Stampin’ Up! facility is the Ideas Room—a large room that is divided into two parts. The front part of the room has a couple of couches, some huge bean-bag chairs, a corner with stamping supplies, a piano, a ping pong table, an air hockey table, and a foosball game. The back half of the room is a meeting place with white-board walls from floor to ceiling.

For the last couple of years, demonstrators who have toured our Stampin’ Up! facility during convention have covered the walls in the Ideas Room with comments, many directed to me. I enjoy reading these comments, and this year was no exception.

Many of the comments this year included requests for new products, including dozens of ideas for stamp images. I won’t even start naming them—the list is long! You can rest assured, however, that every suggestion is being passed on to the appropriate departments.

There were also several requests for different programs, services, etc. Those too will be passed on to the appropriate departments. We appreciate these suggestions; we love to hear from you!

The rest of the comments are the ones that make my heart smile—they are words of encouragement, support, and thanks from so many of our demonstrators. Several of you mentioned the great working environment (a couple of you volunteered to become full-time employees!), our wonderful DS agents, and your gratitude for Stampin’ Up! One man wrote that he was at convention with his wife and that he’d rather be riding his motorcycle, but he did like our working environment. (smile)

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts, ideas, and gratitude with me. I don’t know if you realize how even small expressions of your gratitude encourage and sustain me when I sometimes feel overwhelmed and overbusy! I hope you know that the feeling is mutual, and that I am so thankful for each of you and all that you do for Stampin’ Up!

Hi Shelli!

This is a cute post. Great pics too. I think it is cool that you take the time to read the comments on the white board. Since I'm a local and can visit any time, I did not take the campus tour this convention. So I did not have the opportunity to write on your white board. So if you don't mind can I add something now? WHITE BRADS! Just like how the silver and gold brads come.
WHITE BRADS - WHITE BRADS - WHITE BRADS - WHITE BRADS
(This turned into a subliminal message. chuckle chuckle)

I so enjoy your blog. You always have something interesting to share. Keep up the great work and know that you are loved.

Thank you, the entire management team, and the company for listening to your demonstrators. It's one of the MAIN reasons I continue to be a Stampin' Up! demonstrator because you'll listen to US! LOVE that and LOVE all of you!! HUGS!

This was so fun. In case you are wondering who wrote CHOCOLATE CHIP BRADS...that was me. I would also support Kim's white brads campaign! (the small brads, not the giant ones we already have).
It was also fun reading what others wrote on the board. That must have been fun for you, as well.

The convention was awesome! The Riverton tour was only one of the highlights and the white board was a surprise! As a new demonstrator, I am amazed at the variety of opportunities we are given to share our input and views – the white board, surveys, your blog, through demonstrator support and yesterday, via phone, I was personally asked my opinions of the conference (of course, everything about the convention was absolutely incredible). Shelley, you and everyone at Stampin’ Up! ™ go out of their way to make us feel valued. Unfortunately, that is not commonplace in the workforce today. Thanks for all you do, I am proud to be a part of Stampin’ Up! ™

P.S. Love the blog, too! BTW, Can I get the template for the triangle box from your presentation?

Shelli,

First I would like to tell you thank you so sharing all and all you do.It was because of your blog I was able to get my son potty trained in a weekend. It was from your post awhile back. Thank you!
Second I have a suggestion too, please consider cling mount rubber stamps.
Gasp, I just unmounted all my stamps and put them on cling mount foam. I LOVE IT. I have been able to save so much room and have better organization of my stamps now. I was a bit scared to do it, but I am so much happier now. I guess I'll have to post a picture of just how many blocks - stamp sets I am talking about. I believe Stampin' Up! is more than just the traditional rubber mounted stamp. More importantly it's the quality and artisty of the products. So here is my chant...CLING MOUNT, CLING MOUNT, CLING MOUNT! thanks for the opportunity to share and to learn from you. Kind Regards

Hi Shelli,
I didn't get to come to Riverton, but here is a small suggestion. I love all the beautiful colored paper, designer paper, and color, color, and more color. When I made Senior Asso., and got my certicate and pin I was thrilled. I looked at the certificate and thought, "I need to add color." Then I made Supervisor, another pin and another certificate, I'm excited! I need to add color. How about some color on these certificates??? If not possible that's OK. I'll eventually add a boarder of our great designer paper. Have a wonderful week. Will continue to remember you and family in prayer. Love, Jackie

Thank you for always listening to our ideas. Before I forget, my customers always ask me to pass this along and I always forget. They want to know if you can print the matching colors on the designer series paper packs so they can remember which ones to match them to when they retire. I always forget that not everyone obsesses over all of the colors like us demos!!!

Hey that's my husband that wrote about riding his motorcycle! :) He wouldn't let me read what he was writing till he was done & wouldn't let me erase it. I brought him with me to SU! that day so he could see what a great home office you built & where all of my stamps come from! He was so bummed that we weren't able to bring his motorcycle with us to Utah, but who really wants to drive from Michigan with a one year old. Not me!

LOVE SU! :)

I'm so glad the kind comments carry you through/sustain you on many days. Sometimes, I hear demos gripe about silly things or the same demos griping constantly and I feel bad that the company and you have to deal with it. I know it's part of the business, but you all do so much for us and I just want you to know so many of us appreciate all your efforts. There are a lot of things you do that we will just not understand the background to the decision and that's okay :)
