Shanna and the Twins

I know some of you are wondering how Shanna and her family are doing. She was recently divorced, and while divorce is never easy, she and her sweet twins are doing okay. They still live in Florida, where Liam’s health has improved dramatically since being at sea level.

Liam is all-boy and loves tractors, building things, and playing outside. Abigail loves all things creative and talking to her dolls. She’s also a ball of fire (kind of like her mom!). Shanna is busy doing the single-mom thing…working several jobs and loving on her kids when they’re with her.

As a family, we wish we lived closer to help Shanna. But since we don't, her sisters plan to take turns making the trip to visit Shanna and the kids until Sterling and I get home from our mission, and we do what we can from a distance. We love and miss Shanna and her cute kids tons, and we’re looking forward to seeing them in the spring.

Thank you for the update. I'm sorry hear of the divorce. While divorce is always difficult, it is sometimes necessary. I'm grateful to hear that Liam is doing well. They all look great! What a strong woman Shanna seems to be! I'll continue to pray for the three of them.

As my Mom always tells me "Everything works out ! " I am finding this to be true and more so as I get older and find myself telling our daughter the same thing. Family support is wonderful! Thankfully her sisters are there to help out.And yes the three of them look wonderful!!! God's Blessing !!!!!

Life is never easy ...... as most of us know. Through good times and not so good times, family is everything. Shanna obviously has a great support system in her faith and her family. Hug those adorable kiddos a little tighter and each day will get easier. Wishing you all the best !!.

I would rather have had this comment else where but the "Contact Us" link did not work for me, so this is where I am posting. I am sooo frustrated with many of my stamp sets. This morning I sat down to use a Stamp set that I don't even know if it's still current. I doubt it. However, it was brand new in the box. I had to pop the stamps out of the sheet of rubber and then put the clear labels on them. I was thinking to myself that even though I have had trouble with many of the cling mount stamps, since this was brand new I wouldn't have any trouble. WRONG! They do not stick to the acrylic blocks and fall off, ruining my card base which is made from Whisper White Heavy Card Stock. Previously I have literally glued the cling side of a stamp to an acrylic block, but this defeats the purpose of cling mounted stamps. I was using Snowflake Soiree and three of the 4 snowflakes today. But I can't give up an acrylic block every time I want to use a Stampin' Up set. My hands were/are freshly washed, free of oils, etc.I wiped the cling top off with a dry towel which did not work and then I wiped it with Alcohol and a dry towel to make sure there were no oils from my hands on the cling part.

At this point I don't know if I will ever buy another stamp set from SU! Please tell me what to do. I find that I am reaching less and less often for those Stampin' Up sets because of this. Thank you.

This my option and only a suggestion. Try using a glue dot or just a little bit of adhesive on the block and then put your stamp on it. I've seen some people not put the clear plastic image on the stamp and used it that way. I prefer a glue dot.some also used mod podge and brushed on the clear plastic and let it dry before using it.Hope this helps I am not a member of stampin up or a family member.

Shanna and her little ones look happy and healthy. Sometimes divorce is necessary for that to happen. I too am about to go thru divorce, although, I am married longer, and am blessed that my husband and I have raised to amazing daughters (24 and 19). They are our legacy. While my husband and I continue to love and care for and respect each other very much, divorce is still difficult. We continue to pray for ourselves, one another, and our daughters and are committed to being family still celebrating holidays and family events together. There is no doubt in my mind that Shanna has a very strong support system and is very much a strong woman. I pray for God's blessings on Shanna and her children and that Shanna is at peace with her new journey ahead.

Awesome to hear the twins are doing so well, especially Liam. Sad to hear of the divorce but these things happen, saying an extra prayer for them all xxx

Read this quote in a Max Lucado book today - it seems appropriate for Shanna's situation. "You'll get through this. It won't be painless. It won't be quick. But God will use this mess for good. In the meantime, don't be foolish or naive. But don't despair either. With God's help, you will get through this." I'll be keeping her and her family in my prayers.

Sorry to hijack this post bu....t CINDI, do you think you could share what book that is from? I love that sentiment! That book may be something I want to pass on to a friend going through a difficult trial. Please share, if you see this and if you can.

Shelli, sorry if this is not allowed. And continued prayers for Shanna, her children and ALL of the Gardner's.

Tami- You did not hijack the post, and thanks for being so considerate! I'm curious about the book as well. Hopefully Cindi will read this and respond to us.

Vicki F- I know Stampin' Up! is working on a solution for the clear mount stamps, but it's not a quick fix. Please call 800-STAMPUP. Perhaps they can give you more ideas.

I apologize for not reading my blog comments as quickly as I should...

I'm not positive but the book mentioned might have been You'll Get Through This by Max Lucado. Even if it's not the book that one is still a good read for the tough times like divorce.

It's good to see a beautiful picture of Shanna, Abigail, and Liam. Happy to hear that Liam is thriving at sea-level! With Shanna's strong family support and her caring, loving and independent spirit, I have no doubt that she and the twins will persevere! Will keep them all in my prayers.
