Welcome to my personal blog!

Just as I share some of my personal thoughts and views, I invite you to share yours. All I ask is that you keep your comments appropriate. I won’t feel badly about removing comments that are offensive. That doesn’t mean you can’t be honest—I want honest feedback—but I like to fill my life with positive people and positive things. I guess that means that if you have to say something negative, say it nicely!

More than anything, I want you to leave here feeling inspired and valued—and like we've had a nice visit!

Wouldn’t Change a Thing

Sterling needed to go to Kanab for meetings about the city park (we’re beginning our final phase), so we drove down on Thursday afternoon, arriving just in time to go to dinner and visit with my sisters and their husbands…love being with them! The next morning, while Sterling was at the park, my aunt Lynni came for a long and wonderful visit…she’s been such a blessing in my life!

I also planned to do my walk-about in our manufacturing facility. I knew I couldn’t handle walking the entire building (and standing to visit), so I was relieved to learn that everyone would be gathering together for a celebration—complete with dozens of delicious donuts (at least they looked and smelled delicious!)—for their extra hard work this week. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to see everyone in one place…I so appreciate all they do!

Cherokee, a long-time employee, often asks me for a photo when I’m in Kanab and always makes me feel special. He commented that I had made his day by stopping by and visiting. Well, Cherokee, you made my day too!

It was a quick trip, but I got to see people I love, and I wouldn’t change a thing!

Janet’s Celebration

Janet Wakeland and her husband Doug received a warm welcome this week from the home office to celebrate her one-million milestone. Janet thought she knew what to expect because she’d seen other demonstrators’ videos, but she explained that there is no way to image how it feels until you experience it!

Janet’s customized day included a business video, a watercolor class, and working on a stamp set. Doug went on a tour of Stampin’ Up! and met with product team members (since his career has been in paper). It was a busy day with lunch (demonstrator support agents joined them) and snacks at every turn, which explains why Janet and Doug didn’t eat nearly as much as Sara, Sean, Sterling and me at dinner later that evening!

When I asked Janet and Doug what their favorite part of the day was, they both had multiple answers. Hopefully their expectations were met and that Janet felt loved and appreciated! I loved laughing and visiting at dinner with people I’ve known for years but hadn't had the chance to visit with in such an intimate setting.

The next day Janet and Doug met up with Sara and Sean for a snowmobiling adventure (because that’s Janet...adventure!) in beautiful and rural Midway, Utah. The Wakelands had dinner with corporate team members that night, and spent an extra day on their own before returning home. Thanks, Janet, for your dedication and hard work in achieving this milestone of a lifetime. Congratulations!

Pretty or Graphic

In our church, I serve in the women’s organization called the Relief Society. We have over a hundred sisters in our ward, and I promised to provide birthday cards to send to all the sisters during the year. My artist sent both of these as options, and I chose to duplicate the prettier card, but the graphic one is cute too! Which one do you prefer?

Celebrating Mary

From the warm desert of Arizona to cold and snowy Utah, Mary and Scott arrived at Stampin’ Up! to an unexpected welcome and a cheering crowd to celebrate Mary’s Million-Milestone.

The first thing I noticed when she walked in were Mary’s shoes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her in heels, but these shoes were sassy and perfect for a celebration!

After lunch with members of Demonstrator Support, Mary got a sneak peek at some new product and worked with Kathy to design a stamp set—very cute idea (too bad we have to wait so long to see it)! And Scott toured Stampin’ Up!

Dinner was with corporate team members up Millcreek Canyon at the charming Log Haven.

The next day, Scott spent “golfing” indoors with corporate team members while Mary was pampered with a massage, facial, and a mani/pedi—something she definitely deserved after all her hard work!

Because it was so cold, plans were modified from a tour of Temple Square to a movie in a VIP theatre with Sara and Sean after dinner with the six of us at The Dodo.

Mary and Scott are delightful and genuinely good people. We felt honored to spend time with them, celebrating this sharp businesswoman and meticulous stamper who has built an unparalleled business and community of stampers! Even though the weather was cold, we hope Mary felt warmed by everyone’s hugs and congratulations!

My Baby Sister’s Birthday

Hearts aren’t just for Valentine’s Day—they’re for your baby sister’s birthday too! I loved the ornaments we gave to the girls and thought Vonna might enjoy one made using products from the Falling in Love Suite. And the best part? She and her family were in northern Utah over her birthday, and I got to give her gift to her in person…with a big hug…after a nice visit!
