The Behind-the-Scenes Shot

Every once in a while, I schedule a photo shoot to update my head shots used in different places (catalogs, magazines, web sites, etc.) at Stampin’ Up! You’ll even notice one on this blog!

I smiled when I saw this photo from today’s shoot. It’s a family affair, and everyone pitches in. My son-in-law Jon, my personal photographer, was taking the pictures, and Shalae was helping out—even at nine months pregnant, she’s a team player. It was almost high noon, and after make-up and outfit changes, we’d been at it for almost three hours. She did an incredible job of standing on the wagon wheel, balancing the scrim and her ready-to-burst tummy, and ignoring the hot summer sun.

I thought you’d find this shot as heartwarming as I did. And you’ll also be ready to celebrate when I share the news of baby Phoebe’s birth, which should be any day—and not nearly soon enough for Shalae!

So when you see this head shot of me show up somewhere in a magazine or online, you can smile because you know what was going on behind the scenes!

Hi Shelli-Thanks for your blog! It is wonderful as we can feel closer to you and your family. I doubt you will remember me but during the convention photos with you,I gave you a pin I had made using black embossing powder and Crystal Effects. I was very nervous giving it to you and in my excitement I forgot to thank you for being you! I know that I can't say that I am JUST a hobbyist anymore, thanks to YOU!!. I can feel the love you have for us no matter what our sales are. You are truly an inspiration to all of those who LOVE you!! Forever Hugs Kay Mespelt # 86417

TFS. I love getting the behind the scenes look. Your photos are always the first thing I look for in any SU! publication & I so enjoy hearing about your family. I hope that along the way we get to hear what each daughter & SIL does for SU!
Shalae, you look great! Can't wait to see photos of the new baby. Here's hoping for an easy delivery!
Jon, you are an awesome photographer! Shelli always looks great! What a super idea to get this picture of your MIL, wife, and daughter-to-be.

What an absolute doll!

Thanks for sharing your story. I think sometimes we can easily get caught in the moment, and forget that you are just a regular gal! I love reading your blog. You really do inspire so many of us demos. Keep up the great work Shelli. I can honestly say that I am proud to represent the Stampin Up! name.

Hugs,
Jen

Love it! I am so enjoying your blog, Shelli. We all think of you as our "friend" and it's so nice to keep up on your life. I just wanted to add here that it CERTAINLY isn't very nice of you to have such a wonderful catalog that is going to cost me many, many dollars....and then turn right around...just a couple weeks later and add the most incredible Holiday Mini catalog EVER. Shame on you, and Thanks so much....all in the same breath!

Loved this post. Shalae's a legend. At 9 months pregnant I could hardly balance on my two feet, so I'm pretty impressed with the wagon wheel trick.

what a team player your daughter is! this might seem silly but you should list where you buy your clothes - I especially like that jacket you're wearing in your blog pic. 'Cuz you know, we're women, we like to stamp AND shop!! :)

Hi Shelli! I had a great time at Convention! It was my third one and I have been a demo for nearly 8 years! I am a hobbyist with a small downline but I am a nurse-midwife full time so I always enjoy hearing about your growing family:-) Shalae looks good but I can epathize with her. All my patients can too! They all want to be done right now too! Good luck to all of you and Best wishes early you are in our prayers. Thanks for all you do! Deb!

Love this behind the scenes peek! And soooooo not fair that Shalae is 9 mos and so TINY! That just isn't right! I would have made two of her! And the screen reminded me of a gigantic oval punch when I saw it. Caption should read:

"Shalae fans Shelli, in hot, and sunny Utah! (even though I think it's a circle???)

Shelli,
Thank you very much for starting a blog and sharing a part of yourself and your family with all of us. I am enjoying reading your posts and learning about you and your family. One of the things I love so much about SU and convention is that the same people that you see on stage and on the website in training and publications are the same people that are just working - handing out bags, helping at momento mall, doing normal things that normal people do and so willing to be nice and talk to all of us. To me you and your staff are celebrities and you all make me feel super special because I can talk to you just like anybody else. Thanks for all that you do!
I'll look forward to seeing the new baby in the next family picture in the catalog!
What a wonderful family you have!
