The Day After

Thanksgiving has come and gone—it always goes way too quickly!

We had an almost perfect day. All the kids were here except for Sara and Sean and their children, who were with Sean’s family in southern Utah.

We got started fairly early, which meant that we didn’t feel rushed and we had plenty of time to enjoy the whole process. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen, cooking and prepping and chatting; we even sat down and took a break once in awhile. It was wonderful!

While we were prepping in the kitchen, there was a football game going on in the great room and Christmas movies being shown downstairs.

The kids floated back and forth between the two, with lots of time spent helping in the kitchen as well. They loved being little helpers and doing all sorts of tasks and errands.

I have to mention our name card project. Shalae and I had stamped name cards and Zach accepted the assignment to write the names. It was adorable to watch him take such meticulous care in spelling everyone’s name correctly. He wanted the cards to look great—and they did!

Dinner was delicious, of course. And I don’t know if your Thanksgiving is like ours, but after I finished, I sat there and wanted to go back for more—everything was so good—but I didn’t have a bit of room anywhere for seconds. I guess that’s what Thanksgiving leftovers are all about, right?

Today has been as relaxing and wonderful as yesterday was. We’ve played, visited, and just hung out most of the day. The kids did go swimming, and the grown-ups went to a movie. (Grandma got to watch the kids—lucky me!) I love spending time with loved ones, don’t you?

I do hope your Thanksgiving was great and that your weekend will be wonderful!

Shelli What a beautiful family. So glad you had the opportunity to spend time together on this wonderful Holiday....that's what it's all about FAMILY and friends spending time together. At least you had help....I had to do it all by myself...my husband did help a little by peeling the potatoes and cutting up the turnips, but I was mostly on my own...

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOURS!

Stampingly yours,
Terry~~

Looks like everyone had a happy day! I love the little "wine" glasses for the kiddos. I said to my husband on Thanksgiving that I wish I had some plastic ones for our kids (they are 2 and 3) for their milk and juice or even some sparkling cider, since we didn't have wine with dinner. Where did you get those? Were they plastic? I think kids feel special when they drink out of special glasses from time to time!

Happy Thanksgiving "weekend" as I am just getting caught up with emails and checking a most important site..Stampin' Up! of course:) I am thankful to have my family and extended family which includes you and all the wonderful people I have met through Stampin' Up! I missed my first convention this year as I took off some time to remember my Mom who passed just after last year's convention. I knew I needed some time to just be. Be with my memories. Be with myself and grief. Be with some of God's outdoor creations. I thought I did not have enough energy to attend convention this past year and I probably didn't. BUT, I learned that I missed seeing my stamping family and being with all of you. It was huge not to have my Mom and it made it harder to not be with the supportive group I most love. Thank you for creating this wonderful group when you started SU and also continuing to care about all of us the way you do. I look forward to coming to convention this year and seeing all that SU has in store for us. PS(The Mini and SAB...WOW!!!!!!)

Looks like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I am so proud of your success... I remember your dear Mom Heather from a long time ago in Lancaster, and my husband remembers you as a little girl. My husband Paul and sons Cameron and Stefan have crewed the past several years on the Bonneville car (or is that a rocket?). Anyway, just found your website and blog... fun!

Blessings of the Season to you and your Family.
