Thinking of You at Sale-A-Bration

This Thinking of You card is the first of several Sale-A-Bration projects I plan on posting throughout the Sale-A-Bration period. This is our most exciting promotion at Stampin’ Up! People love it because they can get free product—and who doesn’t love free stuff!

This card features one of the frame images from the Vintage Labels set, my favorite Sale-A-Bration stamp offering (although I'll certainly use them all!).

Notice that I’ve used it in several different ways: first, as a frame, like it was intended, behind the “Thinking of You” accent; next, as a larger frame background image behind the accent (you’ll need to stamp it four different ways from four different angles to get this look—sounds complicated but it’s quite easy to figure out); and finally as an added texture image on the Bella Toile stamped background.

I like this card so much that I’m actually planning on making a dozen or more in the next day or so, with a Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry color palette. It’s actually quite quick and easy to make, but it’s beautiful. I know several people right now who are going through a difficult time, and I want them to know I’m thinking of them. This card is a great way to do that!

It is so great that you are sharing projects with all of us. As a customer (and former demo), it may just inspire me to actually do some stamping and earn some of the free sets. Guess this is why you have such a successful business. :) Thanks!

Ooh, I love this color combo! The proportions of the colors are great that way. I love the idea of making the swirly frame stamp have more presence on your card. Thanks!

Shelli, this doesn't have anything to do with your post but I do have a question:

I have been a customer of Stampin'Up for many years. I have a party every year, go to others' parties, buy lots of things, and have brought several other people in through my parties. Everyone who comes uses the same demonstrator. She has become a close friend to all of us. Before Stampin'Up came out with their own "Movers and Shapers", I had one. It
is the exact same design as the one Stampin'Up has. The only difference is the magnet. I would love to have the curly label magnet but I can't justify paying $40 just to get a $7 magnet. I would like to know whether you would sell that magnet to me separately. I'm sure you do your best to be fair to your customers as well as to make a profit for yourself.

Thank you for considering my request.

Shelli,

What a beautiful card so simple. I love the sale a bration period. It is my favourite time of year. I love how you have used the wide oval punch and then distressed an outer area to create a border. Love that. I love the new vintage label stamp set. thanks for sharing the inspiration.Oh and I love hearing about regional so wish I could of been there sounded like a great event.

I'm just curious. Which is your preference these days? Wood mount or clear mount? I am loving the clear mount, myself and think it's a great addition to the Stampin' Up! product line.
