Book-a-Thon Blitz

At the US/Canadian convention this year, we had a class on booking workshops. After learning tips and hints for booking workshops, class attendees participated in a book-a-thon at the end of the class each day. I was intrigued with the idea—and wondered how successful it would be. At the end of convention, I was THRILLED to find out that demonstrators had booked more than 1,500 workshops during the class!

The success of this class sparked plans for a company-wide book-a-thon, which we’ve scheduled for October 12. I won’t go into all the details (click here for those if you're a demonstrator). And if you are a demonstrator, I would encourage you to find out more and participate if you can. We’ve set a goal to book 5,000 workshops in one day—and you’ll receive valuable training and FREE prizes. Check it out—and let me know how it goes! I’d love to hear your stories!

I loved this Book-A-Thon. I have a phone phobia (even stayed in bed an extra hour because I was SO dreading getting up). But I had taken some suggestions and sent out an email the night before that I would be calling and the incentives I was offering for booking a workshop. And...if they answered the phone and knew the code word that was in my email, they got a prize. I ended up making 26 phone calls - of those I left 17 messages. After all was said and done I booked 15 workshops on the 12th and ended up booking three more later; two at workshops after telling about my success and one by phone. So, I'm going to be busy in the next few months!! Whew!
