Happy Father's Day

We had a full house tonight to celebrate the fathers in our family! Everyone was together except for Sage and Jason and Kona (we missed them!), so there was a lot going on! The weather was beautiful, and the grandchildren were running in and out all evening; they had great fun playing together. The grown-ups got to sit inside and chat, and it was wonderful—and a little crazy!

I showed you the briefcase cards I made for Sterling and the boys and the fathers in my life several weeks ago, but I thought I’d show you one photo of the finished projects. It was fun to get six such different-looking cards from one packet of Designer Series paper!

The boys all loved the cards—and they especially loved the beef jerky! That is a Father’s Day tradition for us, so they all knew what they were getting (no need to wrap the gift!). And they were looking forward to it. Gary West Jerky is the most delicious jerky I’ve ever tasted, but it’s kind of pricey, so we only splurge once a year.

So even though it’s late, I do want to say Happy Father’s Day to any demonstrators who are fathers—or any other father who happens to read this post! You’re amazing people, and we couldn’t live without you!

Thanks for the Father's Day wishes, Shelli! The breifcase cards are great! They are so lucky to be the recipients of your thoughtfulness! I enjoy reading your blog, it always inspires me, so THANK YOU for all you do for us demonstrators! I am proud to be affiliated with such an amazing company and my life has been enriched in ways that I never imagined through the endless creative possibilities and the wonderful people I have met. I can only hope that one of my boys takes up an artistic interest, which has been a big part of my life. See you in a few weeks at Convention! All the best...Scot

Love the diversity in those briefcase cards. Sounds like another neat Gardner family tradition with your beef jerky Father's Day.

I love the cards and the beef jerky tradition- and what a great idea to have a tradition like that so you don't have to even think about what to give each year to everyone. And something for the guys to look forward to getting each year! Is there a traditional Mother's Day gift or celebration, also?

I just loved this idea...and was stuck on designing some WOW projects for my Father's Day class...so I came to your blog and thought that this idea was awesome...and I ran with it! I made inserts for each of the envelopes...and also CASED one of your workshop of a lifetime cards featuring emboss resist...The ladies loved it...and I told them I went to the "source" for creative inspiration!! Thank you for your continued creativity and sharing! I have pictures on my DBWS blog if you are interested...

Thanks again!
