Convention II--The Sequel

Okay, I was looking through my convention photos and found these few stragglers that I thought were cute and forgot to include them in my original convention post.

We took a couple of these while we were working on one of the Definitely Decorative rooms in the Demonstrator Resource Center. (You’ll notice who’s doing the work while the girls are sitting and watching.)

The other photo was taken during the Flower Power party. Groovy huh? Can you tell which handsome guy is Sterling?

The other thing I want to do is make a quick clarification.

My closing remarks in the last general session talked about change, and the fact that we will be making changes at Stampin’ Up! in the coming weeks and months. We’re working hard to identify exactly what those changes will be—and we’ll share those changes with you as we finalize them.

I’m very excited about our future and what’s in store, and I hope that my excitement came across when I spoke. I knew that my remarks might cause people to start speculating about exactly what changes would be in store, and I tried to anticipate what kind of rumors might start flying. One rumor I didn’t anticipate AT ALL was that I might be retiring! That is a change that I would definitely NOT be excited about, so I thought I’d at least put that one to rest!

You’re stuck with me for a long time, that’s all I can say! Stampin’ Up! is such a big part of my life—along with my family, of course—and I can’t imagine my life without all of you! So, you can stop wondering about that change.

And as for the other rumors that are flying. . . .well, all I can say is stick around! My time right now is almost completely devoted to finalizing the vision and direction for the future, and you’ll know more soon!

I am thrilled to hear about change... it is needed to stay fresh and vital. Stagnation only breeds digression. And Shelli for what it is worth I am THRILLED you are not retiring and excited to see your daughters enjoy your company.

YAY! I can't imagine you EVER retiring! It's great to see your daughters working with you. I LOVED your demo with Sara at convention!

I'm excited about the changes in store, and looking forward to reading about them in "So Shelli."

Shelli, loved the added photos! I'm glad you confirmed that you are not thinking about leaving SU! I never thought of that, when you gave your speech at Convention, but then those rumors got going on SC!! I'm looking forward to hearing all the exciting news. Convention 2010 was AWESOME!! I even made one of your photos (on your blog & also in the Convention Highlights); doing the color charts! The lady in yellow (next to me) is unknown to me, but we stamped right next to each other!!

I have to admit that did cross my mind. I did remember you mentioning in a previous blog entry that you were not planning to retire yet. But when you started talking about future change and got so emotional my heart started racing. I am so glad to hear that isn't the change to come! Not that you don't deserve it. You work so hard. But I can't imagine Stampin' Up! without you. You are the heart of this company.
Oh my, it always amazes me how things can get turned around when people make assumptions! I, too am excited about the proposition of change and look forward to hearing more details! Although some changes may take a moment or two to digest, we all know that a lot of thought, research, and time has been invested in making those decisions. {hugs}

WHEW... when you were so emotional on stage, we (those of us that meet at convention) looked at each other and had the same thoughts. You can't leave, Shelli. This company resolves around you because YOU CARE and we care about you.
Wonderful convention like always. Each year I think it can't get any better, but each year convention goes beyond any expectations I might have had. (smile)

I knew that had to be a rumor! I can't wait to hear what the changes are! In 12 years I haven't seen a change yet that wasn't good for my business. Thanks Shelli and Stampin' Up! for your commitment to your demonstrators.

Inky hugs!

I have to admit, I was a bit nervous for a few minutes during your closing session. But now I am just excited to see what's coming down the pike! Whatever it is, I know it will be a great change! You're the best, Shelli! Thank you so much for all you do for us!!!

I am so full of anticipation, I could burst! I have been a demo for a just year now (joined 7/15/09), and even in that short amount of time, I can feel confident that whatever changes may be coming, will no doubt be to make Stampin' Up! even better (if that's even possible!!!).

And I'm very glad to hear we'll be "stuck" with you for the foreseeable future, Shelli. :-) I hope I'll have the chance to meet you someday.

Blessings,
Cindy

Shelli,
okay. I admit it. When you started talking about changes, my heart just sank. I so do not want you to leave. I am sure you must realize how important you are to all of us. Who else do you know that gets a standing ovation from people that love her so much, whenever she comes out on stage? I love that Sarah is working with you, but I am not ready for you to retire yet. I am glad that is not one of the upcoming changes!

You so surprised me when you read my letter on stage on opening day! I was honored, but also shocked! Thanks for feeling it was important enough to share. And thanks for the very kind words you shared with me when I came up for my much anticipated hug during the DOY awards. I look forward to spending some time with you in St George!

I'm so glad you are not retiring just yet. I am so sad that I won't get to spend time with you this year at Founder's Circle - it has been a highlight for me these past 3 years. But I'm hoping to get back on track soon and will shoot for earning that honor for next year (fingers crossed and saying a little prayer here) I can't wait to hear about the changes. The waiting is going to be so hard so hopefully we will hear something SOON! I'm sending a Big Hug your way. Take care of yourself and don't forget to sleep!

Hi Shelli,
I didn't get to see you at this convention, the lines were so long, but I did get my chance before and thought it would be good to let new attendees have their opportunity, wink! Your closing remarks made me realize at convention that you were not retiring, in fact, that you are even more involved than ever. Although you were unsure about sharing with us about the changes that are going to happen, I wanted to acknowledge how I appreciated the fact that you advised us of some changes coming in the future. As a busy mother, wife, nurse, demonstrator, your hint about change coming on, will prepare me to be a better demonstrator. Thanks for believing in us and including us, demonstrators in the transition of big decisions. On another note, I am so excited that I attended convention, it has been awesome, new ideas, new products, new goals, & especially new friendships. I came back with my AHA moment! I have found answers to questions that have been on my mind for a while. Now that's a well invested 5 days! Stampin'Up! Rocks...See you in Nashville. Hugs,

Shelli, we love you and are so glad that you are not retiring anytime soon! Isn't it amazing how few words can start that rumour ball rolling; got to watch out for that. I personally am excited to hear about the future changes for Stampin' Up! and eagerly awaiting the announcements. This Arizona gal is also with Stampin' Up! for the long haul and planning already to attend next year's Convention. GO! GO! Yay Stampin' Up! Thanks for all you do and all you give to your demos.

Shelli, this was my first convention and I LOVED it! I am already making plans to attend next year and I hope to be one of the lucky demonstrators walking across the stage for earning the incentive trip. I have loved Stampin'Up! from the moment I signed on with the company. Somehow, attending convention has sealed my connection to the company and I LOVE it more than ever. I'mm looking forward to many years of happy stamping!

I've never been to convention as travel is difficult with the medical challenges of my daughter Sarah, but I so love to read about all the excitment that takes place and see all the photos. I just could not stop looking at the Color Confections Showcase - WOW!!! at any rate, I'm sure the changes will be brilliant as always. I would never have thought you were to retire - maybe just recreate your job functions a bit.

I love the addition of the fabric - I wonder if that might be part of the change? Any possibility of hooking up with Moda or maybe Riley Blake as they are in your backyard? I see Sizzix has hooked up with Westminster Fabrics. Just brainstorming outload. Thanks for all you do Shelli, you are very much loved.

Hey there Miss Shelli (or should I say Mrs. Shelli) I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to attend Convention this year for the first time. It was a HUGE growth opportunity for me. I want to reiterate what I had the chance to tell you....Keep focused on what you feel in your heart is right! Continue to pray and ask for His blessings on the changes you wish to make and He will be faithful to you! I continue to ask for His guidance for all of you! I know I will continue to be blessed by your decisions! Kris
