Family Time in Florida

It was general conference weekend, but it was also the only time for a trip to see Shanna and the twins, so we headed to Florida for a fast few days, and we’ll watch conference this week…a little delayed.

An overnight trip to Legoland was a fun adventure that hopefully Liam and Abbie will remember for years. It was amazing to see all the Lego creations, and these two four-year olds were troopers, even with sweat rolling down their red faces!

I think Liam and Abbie will have happy memories of our trip, except for their first (and probably last!) rollercoaster ride Grandma decided to take them on when Sterling went to get Shanna after her Strongman training. Amidst tears, I bought a small magnet so we could prove to Shanna that we had done it. Notice the happy before photo and the blurry one taken during the first drop. I felt horrible!

Helping with family photos was the other main event. Again, the twins were troopers while the photographer snapped dozens of photos of them with their mom and playing together. We even got a few with Sterling and me. Our girls remind us every year how inconvenient family photos are for the Stampin’ Up! catalog, but they’re always worth it!

As usual, I wasn’t ready to leave my baby and hers. I already miss Liam’s and Abbie’s constant jabbering and their hugs and kisses. And I’m always incredibly inspired by Shanna’s dedication to her jobs, especially her responsibility as mom of these two busy and adorable twins.

What a wonderful time you all had! Oh that would be every childs dream to go to lego land. Love the picture of you all on the ride! Too funny. They will be able to laugh about that... one day. :) Thanks for doing the family photos. They may be annoying to take - but its one of my favourite parts of the catalogue seeing how everyone is growing up.

Shelli, thank you for sharing these bits of your life with us! I've been struggling lately with "the sandwich" of life - my dad's just been admitted to palliative care, my mom is doing her best to stay strong in the face of this sadness, and I have 2 10 year olds and a husband that also need my time and attention. Last night was my Stampin' Up! technique class, and I was viewing it as "one more thing" on a list that has seemed endless lately. But I was club hostess this month, and (I admit, without a happy face) I went to the meeting. Sometimes you don't know what you need - that class was a tonic. For two hours I got to create, and visit and laugh with friends and just forget all of the other stuff. Then I began reading your blog today, and felt so good - the way you value family, and your demonstrators and your customers...this has been good for my soul today. Thank you!

I have concerns for people in the path of Hurricane Matthew and pray Shanna and her little ones stay safe.

I think we took our grandkids to Legoland on the hottest day of the year, I have never sweated so much. Then as we were about to leave we found an air conditioned playroom so we stayed another two hours which made the kids happy. Your grandkids look happy and so does Shanna, I'm sure she looks forward to your visits.
