Most Relaxing Week

We missed our family vacation at Lake Powell last year, and this year’s trip more than made up for it! It was the most relaxing week we can remember! We woke up without an alarm clock, took a nap almost every day, read a lot, enjoyed watching everyone else play behind the ski boat, and usually ended the day with a movie, popcorn, and Hot Tamales. A highlight for me was our Sunday devotional after a boat ride up the lake. Sterling made assignments to all the grandkids, and they did an awesome job—simple and sweet.

The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and the water was refreshing and warm enough to swim in…maybe more so than any other June I can remember! Not everyone in our family was able to go, but those of us who went will count it as one of our favorite trips to Lake Powell.

Whoa! It looks like the water is down at Lake Powell. Ours were down in Central Texas too until we had flooding rains: Memorial Day 2015, Halloween 2015 and the week before Memorial Day 2016!! Lake Travis (our main source of drinking water) went from only about 40% full to 110% with some flooding in homes! This year people took the flood warnings seriously with much less loss of life. We hate to lose a single person though. I'm glad your holiday was full of rest and reflection.

It's been years & years since I've been to Lake Powell. This brings back some great memories - so glad ya'll have made a few Kodak moments too! When we are in the US, we like to go to Topsail Island - it became our yearly tradition after we moved from Texas to NC. Family vacation traditions really create stronger bonds.

I am always interested when I hear Lake Powell mentioned ... If I ever go to the United States I will definitely visit Lake Powell. A long way to go when I live in the South Island of New Zealand. I love Stampin'Up!
