Blogiversary Blog Hop

You might be asking why I decided to be part of this Blog Hop. The answer is I owed Lorene a favor (or two, or ten!) because she saved me more than once while we were on our mission in Hawaii! Lorene worked just blocks away from our apartment and the mission office, so when I needed to borrow her Big Shot or when I needed a last-minute supply, I would text or call her, and she was more than willing to accommodate…with a smile!

The two cards I’m posting use the Thoughtful Banners set—a must-have, fabulous all-around set!

The Celebrate with Confetti Card includes my favorite technique (embossing) as well as all things metallic and shimmery! Although it’s tempting to scatter the sequins and glitter (just for fun!), they can be admired just the same while contained safely in the cello bag that’s been cut to size.

The Celebrate with Butterflies Card is bright and cheery with a little bit of bling! The bitty butterflies are light and airy because of the faux suede technique. (I work my cardstock by “curling” it with a Bone Folder several times from different angles. Once the cardstock begins to separate, pull it apart for a suede look and feel).

Thanks, Lorene, for all the times you saved me and for the honor of posting on this particular Hop. And congrats to everyone on a year of Blog Hopping together!

Note: For those of you who follow me on my blog, you know I seldom list supplies, but since most of the samples on the Hop include them, I reluctantly decided to comply (smile)!

Thanks for sharing your two cards. They both are awesome and I especially loved the butterfly card and I love using that technique. One of my top 5 go to techniques.

Thank you for joining in our celebratory blog hop this month, Shelli! (thank goodness for favours!). Your projects show off the wonderful Stampin' Up! products, and how easy it is to make 'wow' projects without breaking the bank, or spending huge amounts of time. :)

Isn't it wonderful when stamping friends are there for you, when you need to borrow a supply item and they come through, because they know how much you need it! I love that you and Lorene were able to meet and continue your friendship and complete the circle of favours in such a nice way. Although Blogging With Friends Blog Hop, is always something exciting to look forward to, your surprise presence today makes it even more wonderful. Shelli I really love both of your cards. I think I'd like to CASE both of them.

Shelli, words just cannot explain how very thankful I am that you accepted my invitation to be our VIP Guest Blogger. I will always remember and cherish the day we ran into each other at that eating establishment. I was more than willing to help you each time you called because its our Aloha Spirit. Thank you for all the kind words and for the beautiful projects you shared. I especially liked the faux suede but I'm a sucker for shaker cards. Love! love! love! your creations. Until we meet again, Aloha!

Your cards are fantastic! I like how you were able to make the shaker card so sophisticated and classy. The butterfly card is nice and bright, which I think lifts everyone's mood any time of the year.

It was nice of you to participate in the blog hop as a way of repaying a favor or two. I remember seeing your post when you met Lorene. You were so happy she had said you would be able to use her Big Shot.

Thank you so much for joining my blogging friends and I during our first blogiversary. You have brought so much happiness to lots of people and we are so very honored to have you join us this month as our special guest blog hopper.

Shelli your celebration cards are perfect! If I were to receive the shaker card, there would be a moment that I would think about taking the washi tape off the cellophane bag and throwing the sequins in the air to celebrate the occasion. Then I would quickly jump back to reality about who will clean it up. Yup only in thought. :D I will have to try the faux suede technique. Thank you for your continued inspiration.
