Welcome to my personal blog!

Just as I share some of my personal thoughts and views, I invite you to share yours. All I ask is that you keep your comments appropriate. I won’t feel badly about removing comments that are offensive. That doesn’t mean you can’t be honest—I want honest feedback—but I like to fill my life with positive people and positive things. I guess that means that if you have to say something negative, say it nicely!

More than anything, I want you to leave here feeling inspired and valued—and like we've had a nice visit!

Sleepover with the Grands

Sterling woke up in the middle of the night last week with the idea that we should invite the younger grandkids over for a sleepover. So after little planning, we headed to the cabin with seven of them on Friday afternoon.

Our first activity was swimming and hot dogs and hamburgers. Then we watched a short Book of Mormon movie about Nephi building a ship. And we finished the evening by building paper boats out of DSP.

We all slept on the floor—the girls and Grandma on one side of the room and the boys and Grandpa on the other side. Mid-morning, once breakfast was finished and we’d straightened up, we called it good and headed home.

Aside from Shelby not feeling so well in the middle of the night, the cousins were all well-behaved and enjoyed playing together, and it was a simple and fun time!

Congrats Connie

Connie Fitzgerald achieved her one-million milestone recently, and this is the beautiful card Sara and I sent her.

Connie has been steadily and quietly working toward her goal for many years. And although she’s chosen to visit Utah later in the year for her celebration, we look forward to spending time getting to know this sweet and unassuming woman who says she loves Stampin’ Up! Well, we love YOU Connie! Congrats!

Bright and Fun Packaging

Olivia turned fourteen a few days ago, and this was the gift box we took to her birthday dinner with birthday money enclosed…not a very creative gift, but bright and fun packaging to match Olivia's personality!

Mother’s Day Gifts for our Girls

It was a rainy afternoon yesterday…perfect for stamping with my sweetheart! Well, actually I stamped and he hung out with me and watched videos on horse hoof trimming. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I tried several different color schemes for this gift and finally landed on neutrals with a touch of gold embossing. I know the sentiment on the tag is meant for a sympathy card, but it seemed appropriate for our girls’ gifts this Mother’s Day. I want them to know they are stronger than they think!

Our daughters are amazing women and mothers who respond to the challenges and opportunities in their lives with such grace and strength. I love and admire them so much and feel blessed to have them in our family and in my life.

I am also grateful for the positive influence of thousands of wonderful women in my life—mothers, sisters, grandmothers, aunts, cousins, coworkers, neighbors, and friends! That means YOU!

Happy Mother’s Day!

In Real Life

I fell in love with this sympathy card when my designer sent a photo of the card to me for approval, but when I actually saw the card in person, I realized that photos really can’t do justice to stamps, ink, and paper (and some fun accessories) in real life! The design, the rich colors, and the textures...it's beautiful!
