Welcome to my personal blog!

Just as I share some of my personal thoughts and views, I invite you to share yours. All I ask is that you keep your comments appropriate. I won’t feel badly about removing comments that are offensive. That doesn’t mean you can’t be honest—I want honest feedback—but I like to fill my life with positive people and positive things. I guess that means that if you have to say something negative, say it nicely!

More than anything, I want you to leave here feeling inspired and valued—and like we've had a nice visit!

Absolutely the Best People

Our annual Stampin’ Up! employee appreciation celebrations occurred around the world this week, and although we weren’t able to attend all of them, Sara called three of the regions, I attended Kanab’s lunch, and we both got to share in the Riverton lunch.

We spent hours reading dozens of nominations (perhaps more than ever before…and from employees in all regions!) for the Heart of Stampin’ Up! award. We were especially impressed with how many people nominated coworkers from different countries. It was touching to realize how we are becoming a more global Stampin’ Up! family. We feel so blessed to work with absolutely the best people in the world!

I wish I had photos from the celebrations in all of our offices, but here are a few.

Each of the seven recipients from around the world recieved this card with a little note and a gift card inside.

I loved being with hundreds of coworkers yesterday and today! I hope they enjoyed being together too and that they feel loved and appreciated.

Fun Family Night

When Sterling and I saw the Cavalia Odysseo billboards we immediately went online to learn more. The show looked like it would appeal to more than just “horse people”, so we asked if our family wanted to join us. The huge big top was filled to capacity, and the show was amazing with beautiful horses, talented riders, acrobats, and musicians. Aside from the allergies that flared up for some, it was a fun night with family and an incredibly entertaining experience for all ages. If it comes to your area, it’s a must-see performance!

Dusty and Happy

Since Paul’s passing last year, my sisters have been busy cleaning out the house, and Saturday was when my brother and I and all of our spouses (and a few of their children) were able to be together in Kanab to clean the overgrown yard to get the house and property ready for sale.

We visited while we worked, we visited at dinner afterward, and some of us stayed up late to visit some more. It was a beautiful day—perfect for yard work and reminiscing about Mom and Paul, and I’m grateful for a dusty and happy day with family!

Unplanned Birthday

Shanna made plans to celebrate the twins fourth birthday in style, but Liam spent several days in the hospital this week with pneumonia, and Abbie’s been sick too.

Liam is obsessed with tractors and Abigail with My Little Pony, so these boxes provided the perfect way to send them their birthday money, and Shanna said they love them! They arrived just before Shanna took the twins to the doctor’s (on their birthday!), so the boxes went with them for entertainment.

Linda's Celebration Wishes

Staying over for a few extra days after OnStage was Linda Bauwin’s choice, after having recently achieved her million-dollar milestone. Linda and her friend Jodie spent a quiet Sunday in Salt Lake City, and early Monday morning their adventure and celebration began.

Linda and Jodie were driven to Park City for a hot-air balloon ride in the brisk morning breeze. They walked Park City’s Main Street and then headed to Thanksgiving Point’s Tulip Festival and dinner at Harvest Restaurant.

Yesterday Linda and Jodie were greeted by a small group of employees, including most of the corporate team members. (Linda felt more comfortable not having the traditional home office welcome party.) They received a personalized tour of Stampin’ Up!, designed a stamp set, and ate lunch with some of the corporate team.

Last night Sean was home with the flu, but Sara, Sterling, and I enjoyed dinner at Current Fish & Oyster with Linda and Jodie and got to hear all the details of their celebration wishes.

Linda is an amazingly strong woman who has achieved an amazing milestone amidst a life-changing trial…and all with a beautiful and positive perspective. It was a joy to spend time celebrating her!
