Finally with Phoebe!

Okay, I know it's been a week, but I said I would finish highlighting our trip to Australia. And I think the only thing I hadn't mentioned was dinner with lions! Yes, that's right; we ate dinner with lions just feet away. (Of course, there was a chain-link fence and a "hot wire" between us.)

I wasn't nervous at all--except once. When you look at the photos, I think you'll figure out when! The entire evening with all the animals was fascinating.

This last week was uneventful because I was so sick, but the past two days have been pure bliss as I've been able to hold Phoebe and play with the boys in the yard. I think I mentioned it before, but whenever our girls have a baby, I spend a week with them. I look forward to this time, as do the girls. They have lists of things they want me to do during my stay, and we enjoy lots of visiting...with a little bit of work on the side. So I'm giving fair warning now that you may not hear much from me this week because it's all about the Browns.

Until next time...

Congratulations on the birth of Phoebe! Hoping you are feeling better soon and can go hug her and the "big" brothers! I remember when my little one came along 7 years ago and her brothers wanted her to play cars with them!

My mother in law came and stayed with me for a week when my oldest was born. Then my mom came up and stayed for a week. It was a wonderful time for us to be together. Enjoy every moment! GET WELL!

Hope your visit with the Browns will be lovely and will hold some of your sweetest memories in years to come. I can picture you with that sweet Phoebe on your lap when she is older and telling her about the days just after she was born. I am sure the boys will ask you what it was like when they were little. Have fun with them all. Such sweeties.... Stay well.
God Bless

Love the pictures, not sure how much eating I would be doing, I would probably just be watching the cats!

That is too cool that you devote an entire week when each grandchild is born! Your daughters are blessed to have you! Enjoy your family time.

Can't wait to hear back from you again! Oh and glad your feeling better!

Have a wonderful week at the Brown's, it is wonderful legacy that each new child gets a special week with their Grandma.

I love your dinner pictures with the cats. I had two lion cubs for till they were about two years old, such fond memories. They had truly original names: Bonnie and Clyde.

Enjoy your week!

My gosh, I guess my sense of humor gets strange when it's this late at night. Let me explain. I was FINALLY in a position to visit your blog for the first time since returning from convention. I made a cup of decaf earl grey and settled in my favorite girl chair to view your new blog. Once I read your introduction, I was SO anxious to see a glimpse of your new grandbaby, so I wasn't patient enough to read much. I immediately saw the title of a recent post. It read, "FINALLY WITH PHOEBE", and nod at my screen yes, that's what I want to see. I couldn't wait to see pictures of her so I didn't even read anything below the title. I quickly hit the scroll button, and what did I see? A bigger than life closeup of a snarling lioness! My initial thought was, gee, I thought Shelli was anxiously waiting the birth of a new grandbaby named Phoebe. What's this? Is her precious Phoebe really a LIONESS????? What does she have pet lions or something exotic like that in her yard??? In Utah? how weird! Wait, that just doesn't make any sense! SO I scrolled back to the beginning. :-) I'm still laughing at myself over this one!!! Well, after reading about your trip, I finally scrolled down far enough to see the most beautiful baby girl, being held by her brother. What a precious shot that is! Congratulations to all of you, especially the Browns! I can't wait until once again, there are babies to hold, smell, and listen to those sighs of contentment. How grand.
