A Canon Camera

This will be short and quick, but several of you asked a few questions about the beautiful picture of Phoebe I posted last week, and I wanted to answer those.

First, yes, Jon is a professional photographer. He's actually working on his degree in photography, and I feel so lucky to have him. He's always so willing to take last-minute photos for me, and he's great to have as part of our family! And as you can imagine, I had to really beg him to take those pictures of Phoebe! (smile)

He used a Canon 5D with an off-camera flash (whatever that means!). You can tell I'm certainly not a professional photographer. He didn't use a filter.

Now, I'm off. I haven't been on the computer for a few days, and I'm not planning on getting on again for a few more. I hope you understand, but this week spent with new grandchildren and their mommies (and their siblings) is sacred to me. I'll be back at it full hilt next week!

Hello Shelli.

Even if we did mind that you weren't going to be around a couple of days it doesn't matter...because you know what? Your time is just that. YOUR time and the Lord has seen fit to let you spend it in the way you want to spend it. I don't think you need to keep apologizing to us. We're so glad that you have this blog that we will take what you can give us. :) Enjoy your sweet daughter and her babies!!!!

Your daughters' are so lucky to have you available to help. I'm looking forward to the day when I can do the same for my daughter. (Not anytime time soon, though, she's only 17).

Hello. I just wanted to say that when I had my baby girl (3 1/2 years ago), my mother in-law came over every day for a week, and I LOVED it! I will always cherish those moments! It was also a great bonding experience between my mother in-law and I!

Have a GREAT TIME!!

Enjoy your week Shelli. When I had my two boys my Mum flew over from interstate for a week as well and I have precious memories of those times (and it was cool to be cooked for for a week as well!).

Thanks for sharing your wonderful pictures! Other readers interested in photography should really understand that an expensive camera is not necessary to take such beautiful photographs. Take lots of pictures in natural light and experiment with the settings on your camera. Turn off the flash whenever you can. Get a book from the library or look online for more tips.

Shelli -
Is being a grandmother great? We are expecting grandbaby # 7 in just a few short weeks! Along with staying with our daughters and their families after the birth, I have been blessed to be with them during their deliveries!

And I completely understand about not taking pictures even though you promised yourself you would! It happens to me all of the time, most recently on Labor Day when we spent the day as a family at a beach along beautiful Lake Michigan! I just hope some one captured some memories of the day!

Get some rest! See you in Orlando!!

Hello Shelli,
I had the best time at convention this year..It was my first and I loved it.Not my last! I am expecting my first grandbaby in about 2 weeks and I just can't wait. We finished her room last night and I told my daughter that her room looke like Stampin' Up! Her bed set has flowers and butterflies and I know I can add some Home Decor stuff to it. It is pink and brown.... I want to use the grass stamp and put it around the wall next to the floor and draw little lady bugs and snails on the blades of grass. Well maybe next year I will get to meet you. I didnt get to this time but everyone tells us how special you are..
