Convention 2008

I know I said this would go live on Monday, but I just had to get on today and post my first entry.
After months of anticipation and hard work and excitement, convention is over!
I love convention! I love feeling the energy and looking at all the great project ideas and popping in on the classes. But what I love most about convention is meeting people from across the United States and Canada, talking to them and sharing our enthusiasm for what we do!
I have to be honest though—it’s hard work, and I’m exhausted. But I had to get on and share what I was feeling. I wanted my first blog to be about how much I love and appreciate our wonderful Stampin’ Up! demonstrators and staff members! And how much I loved spending the last three days with so many of you.
Check out this sample that I saw! We have thousands of projects displayed on our display boards at convention, and I enjoy seeing as many of them as I can. This is only one of hundreds I took pictures of, and I wanted to share it with you. I liked it because it made me happy! I love the Always set, loved the color palette (they are colors I’ve used in my own stamp studio), and loved the layers. I just loved everything about it.
I’ll share more project ideas—and thoughts about convention—in the days to come. But for now I’m going to rest and recover, go cuddle on the couch with my sweetheart and get ready for the coming week. We’ll chat more later. . . .

Hi Shelli, Thank you for starting your blog to be able to communicate with us on an even more personal level and learn more about youand your family. I love the design of the blog and your jacket. Yellow is my favorite color, bright and cheerful. This was my 2nd convention as I have been a demo for 2 1/2 yrs. I hope to make every one. You and your staff make this such a FABULOUS event for us. Although I am working my SU as a business, and am not making much money as of yet, I have been blessed with wonderful friends, lots of ideas and creativity through SU and other wonderful demos. I can't wait to see you on stage. You thank us over and over, and I want to thank you personally for giving me the opportunity to be a part of such a wonderful company. Thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity. Love, Linda :)
loved convention! Can't wait to see some of the challenges that you will be posting on your blog!
Celebrate '08 was just the best convention ever! A huge hats off to you and the entire SU staff for a fantastic time. My hubby and I flew out the Saturday before and enjoyed some hiking in Utah and a trip to both Kanab and Riverton before convention started. It was our first time to Kanab and we were both fascinated and excited to see the manufacturing process. Josh was our guide and he was so patient as he answered our questions. While our trip to Riverton was not our first, I'm always amazed at the Legacy Rooms and so enjoy seeing new displays every time! Thanks for being you and for sharing your family with us! Love you Shelli!

Thank you so much for starting a blog! I look forward to reading it. I would love to see what your stamp studio looks like. It is always fun to see other people craft spaces, it inspires me to do more and change things up :)
I am SO excited that you have started this blog! We, as your SU! family love knowing more about you. You are such an inspiring person! Thank you for putting on (along with the rest of the SU! family) a GREAT convention! I just about fainted when I saw the BIG SHOT! I stood in line for 2 hours on the last day of convention to get my photo with you and it was the most worthwhile 2 hours!! It was a pleasure to meet you!! I can't tell you how being a part of this company has blessed my life. Happy blogging and know that we will listen..whatever you have to say! LOVE YOU!!
I love that page! So cute! The funny thing is that I was at convention and don't remember it...there was so many things there I'm glad that we can all point out what we loved!
Hello Shelli! I had a wonderful time at convention. THis was my third time, but my last was in 2003. I wanted to share a little something with you. I have been in quite a rut with my SU business and was starting to feel bored and that it may be time for me to move on. I have mentioned a few different times in frustration to Demo support that I may be leaving SU! Then a firend of mine came to me in Feb. and said "we should go to convention this year. Maybe it's what you need to get you going again." Well let me tell ya! By going to convention I knew the minute I hit the ground in Utah that those "thoughts" were a million miles away. And as soon as you walked on stage the first day I knew and remembered why I fell in love with this company. When I joined SU 8 years ago this Oct. I loved the stamps and all the products, but when I went to my first convention in Kansas City I fell in love with the company and all the people associated with it. And I was reminded of all the love and support in Salt Lake City. You guys are all trully wonderful and I could never imagine selling for one of those "other" companies. LOL. Thank you Shelli, to you and all your staff for reminding me why I trully love Stampin' UP! You guys ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am here to stay FOREVER!!!! :-)
Stampingly yours,

Shelli...I have to agree with you that is a gorgeous page!!! I want to thank you for the best convention I've attended. I love the changes. Love the General Session in the afternoon...that rocked!!! I find having it in the morning I have to get up 6 a.m. to take a shower and get ready to get on line to get a great seat..then in the afternoon find myself falling asleep in a class I so wanted to take and am afraid I missed some important pointers (not that the presenters were boring just from being exhausted)....
Again thanks for all that you and your staff do for us to make the convention the highlight of my business!!!!!
Love your blog...the colors and roses are awesome. Thanks also for sharing your stories.
Inky Hugs,
Terry~~
Shelli,
I, too, want to say a BIG thank-you for a wonderful convention. It was my fourth and it has been the best. So well organized, fun and exciting. What a great oppoprtunity to meet others with the same enthusiasm and love of creativity. This blog is a great idea as well. It will be a lot of fun to "hear from you" and get a closer look at the lady we admire.

Hey Shelli!! Convention was AWESOME! This was my third but my last was in 2003. I wanted to share a quick story with you. I have been a demo for 8 years this Oct. and have been feeling a little bored and frusterated with my business with SU! I had been contemplating leaving the company and have shared these feelings a few times with Demo support. Well in Feb. a dear friend of mine came to me and said "hey I think we should go to convetion, it may be just what you need to get out of this rut." So I agreed. And as soon as my feet hit the ground in Utah those frusterated feelings were a million miles away. When i joined SU I loved all the stamps and products but when I went to my first convention in Kansas City I fell in love with the company and everyone associated with it. And the first day you walked out on that stage in Salt Lake City I remembered once again why i trully love SU! You along with all your staff trully are wonderful people and I could never imagine selling for one of those "other" companies. Thank you Shelli and to everyone employed by Stampin UP for being so great. I am here to stay FOREVER!!! SU ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Stampingly Yours

Hi Shelli,
Thanks for sharing a little piece of your life with us demos! You are such an inspiration to so many of us. Unfortunately, I could not attend this years convention, but I have so enjoyed being kept "in-the-loop" by so many other demo's blogs. It was a lot of fun reading through everyones great experiences.
Will see you next year!
Hugs,
Jen
That is a gorgeous page! Thank you for taking time to blog, Shelli! I look forward to getting to "know" you better!
Thank you for a wonderful convention--and thank you for sharing this blog. I will certainly visit it often and look forward to hearing about your wonderful family!
Shelli, thank you so very much for the inspiration thru your wonderful blog and convention 2008. I am a first time attendee and I loved it!! You have given me the knowledge and now I will do the rest! I love your new blog!! Thank you, Julie
LOVE your home page on this blog - the roses are perfect for you!
I'll echo a couple of others' comments - please make the font larger and darker. There are those of us who are not as young as you and our eyes are going!
Convention was, as ALWAYS, awesome! Every year I think you won't be able to out do what you did the year before, and you always do! Thanks to EVERYONE who was involved in making it a success.
Sam
Note from Shelli: We're looking into your font suggestion! Thanks!
Shelli
What a wonderful blog. Your site will be top on the list of the blogs I like to visit frequently. I have been so curious, but your jacket looks like the Wonderful You stamp set, Dale"s shirt looked like Ginger Blossom paper, and your cute sleeveless top at the end of convention reminded me of Doodle This. Am I just so focused on SU that I see it everywhere?
This was the best convention ever. Well, I'm off to make my UPS man a thank you card.
Thanks for all you do,
Sushi
Thanks so much for a GREAT convention! I soooo appreciated your comments regarding "Hobby Demonstrators" as I fall into that category. As a retired school administrator I have not been ready to give up my free time to spend with family, especially grandchildren, to take on a downline yet. But maybe someday soon! I LOVE the page you selected. Keep up the great work you do for us. I love SU and you, too!!
I am thrilled you have a blog and just cannot wait to read the postings. This is a dream come true! Thank you and thank you from my SU! friends.
Hello Shelli!
This layout is Soyou! What a soft page to relax with. I hope you have a smile on your face, as you venture into this new world. It will not be scary because, I am sure you can hear in these, and will hear in future sentiments that we "all" love you, and what you do for us with Stampin' Up! Convention has inspired me to work harder, and to step outside of my comfort zone. I am actually going to get on the phone, and spread my excitement. This morning I actually offered "PLAYTIME" to all of my customers, friends and fellow demonstrators, on my brand new SIZZIX. Thank you Shelli for giving us a few more ways to make our playtime fun. Have a wonderful rest, and thanks for such a fabulous convention!
Sincerely,
Donna
This was my 1st convention and it was so fun, motivating and inspiring!! Thanks for the great time!!
A friend called today and after telling her where I was all weekend she said "wow you sound like you had a blast, you can't stop giggling!!" LOL
Shelli, I am so very happy that you are doing this blog. And thanks so much for a wonderful confention...I had a ball and I am beat! I am to tired to play with all the new sets you sent me home with!
Oh and UPS rocks!
Thanks again and I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us!
Oh my!!! I stop by your blog for the first time and see me and my precious daughter. I am in tears. There are no words to express how I feel right now. Thank you so much.
Convention was amazing!!! I'm still trying to get my voice back from all of the excitement we experienced. Thanks for a WONDERFUL convention...can't wait to attend my 5th convention next year!!!!
I am so sorry that I could not attend Convention this year. My husband is having some health issues that have to be resolved, but I'll be there next year when I get to walk across the stage for my 5th anniversary.
I don't understand how to submit a challenge entry to you since I don't have a blog.
My friends who were with you last week said it was fabulous -- and I'm sorry I missed it.
Your blog is beautiful -- I love yellow roses.
Thanks, Shelli.
Susan
P. S. I can't wait to get the Big Shot!
Shelli,
Love the blog and loved the convention!! I just wanted to answer the comment that Melissa made about the size of the print if no one else has. If you hold down the Control Key and use the scroll wheel on the mouse, you can roll the size of the print up or down to make it easier to read. :)
