TODAY Was Today

So, did you see me? It was short and sweet, but it was a great opportunity.

We kind of hoped and expected a little bit longer segment, but we know television well enough to not be surprised when it turned out to be so brief. I didn’t get to say nearly as much as I’d hoped (who ever does on national television, right?), but I enjoyed the experience. And maybe we’ve planted seeds for a future appearance where we can share more about what we’re all doing.

I’ve mentioned the goody bags that we gave everyone (the hosts, producers, etc.). I planned on showing photos of the projects today after things calmed down a bit, but I completely forgot to bring the cord that allows me to download photos from my camera to computer, so now you’ll have to wait a couple of more days. Suffice it to say—they turned out great! I was pleased. . .

The producer mentioned that we were the only ones who’d brought goody bags this year. I’m not sure whether he meant the ENTIRE year (which I can’t  hardly believe) or whether he meant those who appeared this year in association with the holiday drive. We didn’t get to give the goody bags to the hosts in person, but they were delivered before our segment, because both Kathy Lee and Hoda thanked us for them. We included cards, stamps, a pad, and some Utah products—you can see it all on Sunday night!

Now I’m off to relax a little, since I must admit I didn’t sleep very well last night! It’s nice to have it over with now and be able to enjoy a short but sweet New York City holiday moment.

You did great Shelli for the time they allowed! Maybe if enough of us emailed them to ask for a future demo by you for gift ideas, they might have you on again. But hey, Friday was a start! I'll be excited to see your pictures! I'm sure they loved their gifts!!! Well have a great weekend in NYC and take care!

I did see you, Shelli! It was very short and sweet.. but of course you did well given the time provided! I hope the kids enjoy all the gifts you provided for the drive, what a great service in this economy!

I know you worked hard to make the goody bags appropriate and perfect too, am eager to see photos of the projects after you get back home and are rested!

On to the next opportunity!

You did great Shelli. You looked well rested considering you didn't sleep well. Thanks for what you are doing!!

Shelli,
I TRIED to watch the show while working---in between answering 9-1-1's (smile), but missed it. However a kind demonstrator put a link to the segment on her blog so that I could see you! It was great. Your personality --the real you--should be evident to everyone that watched. Congrats on bringing this company to what it is today---I'm so proud to be a part of Stampin' Up!

Well, I taped the Today Show and it must have been so short that I missed it. I hope there will be some video by someone online so I and other people can see Shelli. Even though I missed it, I am proud that you were on and donated all the product and Goody Bags to the Today Show.

I tried hard to watch it too, but somehow I missed it! :( Which hour was it on? Does anyone have a link to any video?

It WAS too short -- but you looked great! What a fun opportunity. I do hope you're right, that the seed has been planted for more to come!

I didn't get to see it, but I wanted to tell you that I love your new Header. It looks great!

Well Shelli, I too think it was too short, and I feel if there was less crazy stuff on the show more real news could be shown.
I think you should have been on the earlier Today show and shown them what a real decorated Christmas tree looked like. They had a tree with bubbly water going up the center...yikes!

Anyway, thanks for all you did for the Toy Drive. WE all know how great you are, even if you didn't get to talk as long as WE think you should have been able.

I hope you at least got to pick up a new pair of shoes while you were in New York!

Hugs,
Di

Shelli, our Gotham City Stampers team thought you were great on the TODAY show! You were so down to earth and accessible; I'm sure people loved it. Also, we think it's terrific that you are donating SU! products to the toy drive for so many reasons. It will be a great gift, will get more people to stamp, and will also create a lasting positive impression of Stampin' Up! among those who receive the products which is a win-win for us all. What a great idea for a great cause! Happy Holidays from NYC :)

Great job Shelli, I worked yesterday but rushed home to watch the segment last night on the internet. Your hair looked fabulous and you did an excellent job. I love how you naturally smile when you speak.

I saw you! It was short but very good. Can't wait to see you in a few weeks. Sherrie

You were adorable, Shelli, as always. A short segment of Shelli is better than none at all :D

I had a prior commitment so I was unable to see the segment, and I don't know how to TEVO or record, so I was sad about not seeing it. I saw a customer of mine and she said she had the kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, and bedroom TV's on and her husband on notice so she wouldn't miss it! She got to see it and was excited to tell me about it. It made me very proud of Stampin' Up! I got to see the segment today courtesy of wonderful demonstrator Dawn Griffith who had the link on her blog:

TV is always shorter than you think, but you did a great job, Shelli and I'm sure everyone will love their gift bags. You are so very thoughtful in everything you do.

I saw you and think that you did a GREAT job! I'm sorry that they were unable to give you more time. I feel lucky to be associated with such a giving company. You do a fantastic job of representing Stampin' Up. Thank you for all you do.

You did awesome! You seemed so at ease and relaxed...like a total pro. The segment was very short, but what you did get in was so positive and upbeat. I'm certain you will be asked back.

Yes, I saw you Shelli and of course, like everyone else, hoped it would be a bit longer. Anyway, the company name was mentioned nationally! I was thinking how nerve-wracking it must be to wait and wait for your turn and then be done so quickly. You looked great!

I saw you & you didn't even look nervous! Your love for people & crafting just shines through when you speak. Hoping that they'll invite you back for longer another time!!

I, too, had hoped you'd have a longer segment, but you looked wonderful, and I was proud to be a part of the Stampin' Up! family for the charity contributions you make! Maybe we could all send hand-crafted thank you cards to the Today show, thanking them for having you on (and ask if they could have you back again to do a whole craft segment). Just an idea!

yep - waaaay to short - but you looked GREAT! VERY "pulled together" and gracious and calm, considering how little they let you talk!! (did that other guy at least put lotion on YOUR hands, too????) hee hee

I taped and watched the segment. Based on how at ease, fresh, and happy you looked, I think I was more nervous than you! Thanks for all you do! I'm always telling everyone what a great company Stampin' Up! is, and so much of it is a reflection of you!

YOU were great and did very well. I know it was quick and FAST and how to put all that you've done in a short 30 seconds!!! But I think that it was a great start!!! and hope to see more of it in the future. Now that shows like Carol Duvall is gone and other crafting shows getting cut, it is hard to find shows that promote Stampin Up and scrapbooking and other crafting ideas!
December 6, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterDianne Shiozaki
Yes, it was very short...and late in the show, wasn't it? I almost missed it. All those nervous jitters for such a brief time. Regardless, you did it and did it well. Can't wait to see what you gave in their goody bags.

So I FINALLY found the clip at the very end of the show - I'm not going to admit how long it actually took me to find it. I probably watched half of the 3 hour show in the process, LOL. But - it was worth it. I loved seeing you on the show Shelli! I definitely feel a sense of pride at being a part of such a great company. How fun that they got gift bags - I hope they know how lucky they are!

Hugs!
