TODAY Goody Bags

I made it home last night! Had a wonderful time in NYC—especially after I was able to relax when the TODAY Show appearance was over.

When I planned the trip, I invited Shanna to come along; it’s been so long since she’s taken a pleasure trip. When Sara and Shalae heard about it, they asked if they could tag along if they bought their own tickets, so we ended up making it a foursome.

It was fun to have the girls with me in the green room as I prepped for the segment—and they got to meet Hoda and Kathy Lee.

And it was even more fun to spend a couple of days with them in the Big Apple.

Of course, our main objective was to EAT!!! Since we all love food, we planned our activities around which restaurant we wanted to try out. (Liz Gray, Stampin’ Up!’s PR person joined us for our Friday meals.)

We also managed a little shopping, enjoyed the lights at Rockefeller Plaza (a holiday must!), and visited our Church’s meetinghouse, where we watched an amazing Christmas concert. What talent they have in the local congregation!  We got back to the hotel room each night at a fairly reasonable hour and wound down by watching an in-room movie. It was a wonderful weekend!

As promised, here are the “goody bags” (complete with handmade tags) we presented to the hosts, producers, etc., who made our TODAY Show spot possible. We made two versions—one for women, and one for men.

Of course, the main attraction was half a dozen hand-stamped cards; the women got six different cards, and the men got two each of three different cards, so it was quite a task! I’ve shown each of the cards separately, so you can see each one up close.

We also included a pad, a couple of stamps, My Digital Studio (wrapped in Designer Series Paper and a handmade belly band, of course), and some of my favorite made-in-Utah treats (honey and Garden Gate toffee—to die for!).

Now I’m ready to tackle my holiday list in earnest (in between work, of course)! So much to do---shopping, wrapping, decorating, baking . . . and, oh yeah, I’m planning on hosting a Stampin’ Up! workshop in the middle of all this too! Anyone want to come? (smile)

My daughters and I are planning a get away together and New York looks like a good choice from the pictures you posted.

I wish I was closer I would love to attend a workshop that you held. That would be a awesome incentive sometime for someone to win a workshop that you host for them.

Enjoy your holiday preparations.

It looks like you and your daughter's had a wonderful time in NY. I saw the show and I too wish you would have had more time. But any exposure is awesome, no matter how little.
You hosting a workshop is just so cool. I always tell my gals that you would come in, sit down and be one of them, and have a blast doing so.Wish I could come to your party.
Merry Christmas to your entire family.

WOW can we case those cards. Hosting a workshop. Tell me where and when. It's only a 7 hour drive. Boy would that be a bring them in guest. Hi I have Shelli going to host a workshop would you like to come?

Great goodies! Lucky Today staff!
I love the goody bags, Shelli! You put so much thought into all the details.

And I'm sorry I can't make it to your workshop. I miss being a hostess where someone else demonstrates! So how about you come be my demonstrator for my first Sale-a-Bration workshop in 2010? I'll even provide the supplies... you just have to show up, inspire, and create! (Let me know which dates are good for you. I don't live too far away...if you fly.) Best wishes!

Darling photos of you and the girls...what fun you all had together. And how can all the hosts at TODAY not be blown away by those goody bags? Even Matt and Al will like their loot--or their wives will!

Thanks for the close ups of the cards! Love them all, and I'm sure the recipients will too. Glad you girls had fun in NYC.

Shelli, Those gift bags are to die for! I love all the details in them.

I so wish I could come to your workshop! I sometimes try to picture you as a young mom holding workshops and if you were nervous or not. I have little ones and they sometimes come out to visit the guests at my in home classes. Fun!

I think the TODAY show should have you back for a craft segment or home decorating segment. You would be great!

Hugs,
Jackie

I did see you on the Today show, after I blinked and missed on tv I looked it up online! You did great for the short amount of time you had! The gift bags were wonderful! Is that dazzeling dimonds or shimmer paint on the cards with the butterflies? SO BEAUTIFUL! They must be crazy not to invite you back for a longer segment! I would LOVE to come to your workshop, to bad I don't live closer!
