Problem-Solving Segment

I appeared for a short segment on KSL’s Studio 5 this morning. Usually when I’m on, I’m demonstrating a project or teaching a technique or doing something related to stamping, but this time they asked me to be part of a panel discussion on problem solving.

There were three of us, and we each shared the approach we usually take when confronted with a problem or challenge. I mentioned that I like to talk to as many people as possible and gather lots of information, and I used the designing and building of the home office as an example. We talked to hundreds of employees and asked them what was most important to them and what they would love in the new building. Then I worked closely with professional architects and builders. It was a wonderful experience that resulted in our own Riverton home office—a gorgeous facility, if I do say so myself!

If you want to check it out, click here.

As always, I thought of lots of things I would do or say differently afterwards—someday I want to give a perfect performance. I enjoyed it, though, and had lots of fun.

Tonight I’m putting the finishing touches on this week’s round of Workshops of a Lifetime. Sara and I head off tomorrow morning--I’m excited all over again! I’ll keep you posted . . .

I thought you did a great job on the Studio 5 show. I loved that you involved the employees in the decision about the new building. And I loved how you talked about your faith and your belief in a higher power to settle you. You are such a wonderful role model for us all.

Have a great trip to your second workshop. I can't wait to read about it.

I thought you did very well on the show! Your answer was the best in my opinion! I have a question... SU used to offer an envelope template and they are not in the current catalog. The one I have is the large and says it was revised in 05. I'd love to have several sizes! Any chance SU will bring them back? Thanks!

You did great! You looked so calm and poised (and at home perched on those crazy tall chairs they are so fond of on television sets!) I promise we won't make you sit on one of those at Karen Cooper's WOAL demo meeting : )

You did great Shelli. I think your solution was the best of all. I like the team spirit. Getting inputs from other co-workers.

Shelli, you looked and sounded so at ease. Very nice job, imho. Congrats!

Shelli, I was really taken back at the size of the SU warehouse! Wowser. Loved watching you and again getting a feel for the leadership of SU. Ready for a SU event in Texas. Networking with the Texas gals at Stampin Connection. We need some training and encouragement.

I, too, will seek several opinions about a problem, before making my own decision. I am currently experiencing a problem that is somewhat in a minor way related to Stampin' Up! No matter the outcome, my love for Stampin' Up!, my belief in the Statement of the Heart, and my desire to be a demo will prevail! Thank you again for such a great company.
