Williams Lake Workshop

Workshop #2 was wonderful! Dinnae was amazing; she is a ball of fire! Her enthusiasm is contagious, and you can tell that she lives the Statement of the Heart—she loves what she does!

She had scheduled a group gathering in the afternoon, with about 10 people attending, counting Sara and me. Agenda items included training on downline support, recruiting, and workshops, but we ended up talking about a lot more than that! We had a fabulous discussion, and the time flew by. We could have chatted even longer, but we had to get ready for the workshop, which was was just as fun.

Dinnae had posted flyers all around Williams Lake before the workshop, inviting new customers to come; she also had a few existing customers come (they had to bring a friend though!). We ended the workshop with three new bookings (woo hoo!). I’m not sure about sales (she hasn’t closed her workshop yet), but I think the evening was a great success!

Dinnae was a perfect hostess and demonstrator, taking care of everybody and making sure they had everything they needed. And the guests were delightful to talk to and get to know.

At least a third of them had never stamped before, so it was very fun to see them discover our favorite hobby! They seemed to like the projects (but would they say if they didn’t?), and Sara and I loved sharing with them.

Plus, Dinnae had this to-die-for dessert that I'd never tasted, lots of chocolate and cream. I could have slivered my life away (I kept taking "just a sliver" again and again!) I can't remember what it was called, but she said she'd send me the recipe and I'll post it for everyone.

This morning we’re headed to Workshop #3—I’ll post more about that tomorrow, I’m sure!

I'm loving reading about all the workshops -- makes me crazy excited for Esther's WS next week :)

And definitely post the to-die-for chocolate recipe, since I'm sure we're all ready to get down for some serious snacking.

Oh Shelli, I had SUCH a blast - I was buzzing all night, got to bed "relatively early" (before midnight ;) ), but I had a hard time falling asleep - my brain just would NOT shut off!!

For those of you that are wondering what delectable dessert it was that Shelli loved, they are called Nanaimo bars, and they are a Canadian tradition. One of my scrap club members brought them, and everyone loved 'em! I will be getting Karen's exact recipe (because everyone has a different one!), and sending that on for Shelli to post.

Thanks again, SO much Shelli - it was AMAZING.

I will post more pics on my blog later. :)

Many hugs to you and Sara!

Thanks for sharing all these great workshops - how exciting. I had to have a little chuckle when I found out about Nanaimo bars....as a fellow Canadian, I take it for granted that everyone knows what these are all about!! I guess the other Canadian workshops need to treat Shelli to Tim Horton's, and other BC'ers need to take her to White Spot!

How Fun Shelli! Thanks for sharing, wish I could have been a winner or even get to attend one of these Workshops of a Lifetime! I will have to put it on my bucket list. Well what did I do today?? I talked with Pam Morgan and the very funny part is, I thought I was talking with Pam's assistant, lol. We talked for about an hour and at the end Pam said she would like to meet me in SLC in July. I said sure...what was your last name again?? She said Morgan...pause on my end, then I said Oh Hi Pam, I thought I was talking with your assistant all this time and that I met her at Leadership when Candy Michael and I were asked for our input on something. We got a good laugh. Anyway, I will continue to read about all these great workshops and continue having my own (not as great, but still great to me). Thanks for sharing and hope to see you in Reno at Regionals. BIG HUGS, Candy

Cute projects and I love hearing about the workshops. Just had to laugh about the "sliver" remark. At Thanksgiving, several family members stated they wanted a "sliver" of this and a "sliver" of that. When I got to our 4 year old grandson, he told me he wanted a "slipper" of pumpkin pie.

I love the photo of the teal card! Which Stampin' Up color is that and what is the name of the stamp on the scallop circle punch? - it's gorgeous!

Love hearing about the workshops, Shelli. And I love your "sliver" comment. I find myself doing that with Seattle fudge. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us. Wish I could be there; what fun it sounds like.

And Elizabeth, the teal used was our In Colour Bermuda Bay - only available until the end of June! The stamp set used is an EXCLUSIVE one for Sale-A-Bration, called Vintage Labels. You can't buy this one, you have to earn it by placing a $50USD/$65CAN order. :)
