The Color Renovation

Sara and I are in Frankenmuth, Michigan, today for the next Workshop of a Lifetime. As you know, my life for the past few weeks has been full of mostly workshops and wedding plans, but yesterday I had something else on my mind.

We arrived yesterday, a little earlier in the day because we had to be checked into the hotel and hooked up to the Internet by 4 p.m. (MT) for an exciting webinar we had with our leaders (managers and above). I’ve never done a webinar quite like this one—we had four people participating, and all four of us were calling in from different locations! I was a little nervous, but it went off pretty well considering it involves technology...gotta love it and hate it at the same time!

I’m hoping that the announcement is met with as much enthusiasm as I feel! We announced what we’re calling a “Color Renovation,” which is an update of our color line. We’re adding a few colors, bringing back a few In Colors, and bidding farewell to some of our existing colors. While I will admit that I’ll be missing a few of the “retiring” colors, I am already in love with so many of the new ones!

We’ll still be color-coordinating our products (and offering even more color coordination than before, actually), but our colors are organized into four different collections instead of families. Every time I look at our new color line, I smile—it has such a fresh, vibrant feel! If you’re a demonstrator, you’ll find all the details on our Demonstrator Web Site; if you’re one of our customers, your demonstrator can tell you what it’s all about!

Now I’m off to today’s workshop with Jodi. . . more on that later!

I am a new Demonstrator and I just ordered all the colors in of all the color groups. Now we have new ones, which is great, but I also have ones that are being discontinued which is not so great. With out laying the money that I have to get the products to show at workshops and parties, only now to have colors that I can't sell. I'm wondering if I can "Exchange" the retiring colors for the new colors at no charge? Change is good and I'm all for it, but with money tight, the reason I started this business, I'm a little frustrated. Any help you can give me in resolving my issue would be greatly appreciated. I love the new colors and I think everyone will too. Thanks for listening! Molly

I love the new colors. I am happy about the incolors that are coming back. My customers want to see a chart on the new colors. I can't seem to find a chart to be able to send them via email. The only chart I can find is the one for the demos. Help?

Like many other comments posted here... I love the new color combinations from a crafter's perspective. From a demonstrator's perspective, though, I'm not so sure! After being with SU! for just over 6 years, I made the decision today that I will not continue when the new Stampin' Up! year begins in July! I love Stampin' Up!'s high-quality products, but with this new change (and quite frankly, many others that have taken place over the last 1-1 1/2 years at SU!), I cannot afford the costs associated with making this change and I am not motivated to continue working as a demonstrator )-:

As an elementary school teacher, I can say that I'm extremely disappointed (putting it mildly) with the color changes. I'm all for adding new colors, but getting rid of the bulk of the Bold Brights was a terrible decision. Those are the colors I and my colleagues use the most! SU was always a place we could get nice, stiff, quality cardstock in those colors. Now, the colors I got the most (my school colors) are gone. Very poor decision on SU's part.

PLEASE Shelli - give us back the retired cardstock for 12 months, so we can use up our old inkpads. I am quite astounded and horrified to find that in one month over half the SU Colours are wiped out. My fab collection of SU colour co-ordinated products is now half useless. I couldn't afford to stock up on retiring cardstock, so although I can continue to use all the old inkpads, once I run out of the matching cardstock (and accessories) I am stuffed. (And I am probably more fortunate than most as I have a big stash of stuff - but I am still very disappointed in the way we have been treated.) At the very least SU should continue with all the retiring cardstock & accesory items for 12 months, so 'valued' demonstrators and customers can make use up the ink in their inkads, instead of just throwing them out - these inkpads were an investment, to go with matching products, and the inkpads can last a couple of years - the cardstock wont, and in any event we create as we go, so don't know exactly which cardstock will be used up first! I am all for new colours, they look exciting and it's brilliant, but SU are not showing any sensitivity in the way they have introduced this - the first I heard of this change was looking at the retired list, and I couldn't use up all my ink in one month nor spend a fortune on retiring cardstock. So PLEASE Shelli - give us back the retired cardstock for 12 months, so we can use up our old inkpads. You'll make a lot of fed up SU fans a lot happier!
